Meanwhile, Philbrick hiked to a distant ridge to make the photographs using a zoom lens. He communicated with the team via walky-talky. The weather was windy and cold that morning, making for exceptionally challenging conditions, he says. “A few times it looked like Kristina would be blown right off the top. But of course she was always anchored. I think it took me a couple of days to recover from this session.”

Tying the knot is a major emotional high — but a series of unique cliffside wedding portraits by one New Hampshire husband-and-wife duo take it to a whole new level.
Jay and Vicki Philbrick have been in the photography business for over 15 years, and have been snapping newlyweds at great heights since 2008. And though the sky-high portrait sessions last just an hour or less, the memories will surely be cherished for a lifetime.

“The cliff sessions are a special thing. We love being in the outdoors and the couples in these sessions are extremely excited about these,” Jay tells The Knot.
